In addition to the 28 miles of beach for which it is famous, the Long Beach Peninsula offers a wealth of activities , many of them free. Whether you're a history fanatic, nature lover, art officianado, foodie, or people watcher, you'll find plenty to do. Shopping - The Peninsula offers a wide variety of shopping, from antique stores to souvenir shops to fine art galleries. Downtown Long Beach has dozens of gift shops and galleries. At various locations on The Peninsula, you'll find everything from work by renowned artists and photographers to handcrafted items and inexpensive souvenirs. Clamming - One of the most popular activities on the peninsula, clamming brings out young and old. For everything you ever wanted to know about razor clams as well as schedules, licensing information, clamming dates and even clam recipes, go to Fish and Wildlife's clamming pages. Willapa Bay Interpretive Center - The tiny community of Nahcotta (where the Harbor View is located), was once the Peninsula's northern hub for pedestrian transportation, logging, fishing, and oyster shipping. Here at the Willapa Bay Interpretive Center you can learn about the oyster industry and Willapa Bay's ecology. Center visitors enjoy access to the rocky shores and the bay. It's one of just two publicly-owned spots (Leadbetter Point is the other) with access to Willapa Bay's shores. Fishing - Fish one of the several fresh water lakes, rivers or open water of the Pacific. Take a charter or launch your own boat. Sturgeon fishing season is open year round and there are salmon sole, bass and ling cod. Boating - Launch your boat at the new Willapa Bay Boat launch just a short walk from the Harbor View. Canoeing and Kayaking - Visit undeveloped Long Island in the Willapa Bay, part of the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge. The only way to travel to Long Island is by private boat or kayak. State Parks and Historic Sites
Lighthouses - Don't miss the lighthouses at Cape Disappointment and North Head in Cape Disappointment State Park.
Long Beach Boardwalk and Discovery Trail - Of course, no one wants to miss the fascinating people-watching or activities at the boardwalk. Discovery Trail, which crosses under the boardwalk, will stretch more than 8 miles, when completed. Other Activities
